HTTP
CCS uses a variety of technology to deliver a simple and effective solution to establish a web presence.
The 'Hyper Text Transport Protocol' (HTTP) is the language of the Internet. It has been an evolving work with effects from Netscape, Microsoft and others. CCS uses this along with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and JavaScript to create effective web pages.
CGI
CCS has developed a variety of scripts and program to process 'Common Gateway Interface' (CGI) input using UNIX shell, Perl, C and C++. In most cases, we recommend the use of a portable scripting language such as Perl which easily moves between UNIX platforms and Windows. There are many utilities that can accelerate the use of Perl with the Apache server.
The Apache Server
Our use of this technology is very practical, using the most commonly used and supported extensions of the protocol. We sometimes use the Microsoft IIS web server, but normally recommend the use of the Apache HTTP server which serves the greater majority of the Internet. We have experience installing, and configuring the Apache server with using static and dynamically named virtual hosts, for serving multiple domains on a single machine.
